Are you starting a new fitness regime?

Let me guess one of your main health goals.  Is it weight loss?

Most people I meet when they are getting started training will say their goal is weight loss. I want to tell you why this shouldn’t be your goal.

Your weight will often drop with exercise and good nutrition, although if you are doing strength training your lean muscle mass will increase, meaning weight loss will be affected.

What won’t be affected if you are in control of your training and food is fat loss!

The difference being weight loss is just what is shown on the scales. Fat loss can be still be measured through bioelectrical impedance testing, DEXA Scan or skin calipers.

These as well as a simple tape measure or your clothes fitting better will give you a better indication of you achieving fat loss than the scales alone.

In closing, remember your body is more than just a number on the scales.
